Position Summary:

Reporting to our Regional Vice-President, Group Sales, National Consulting & Small Group Services; the successful candidate will be responsible for new business sales and the profitable management of a portfolio of group benefits clients with the National Consulting firms located in Western Canada.  There are new business, retention/growth and profitability expectations for this role along with a need for the successful candidate to travel throughout Western Canada on a regular basis.  A valid driver's license and vehicle is also required.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Sell Equitable Life group products & services by developing strong partnerships through personal contact with clients and Group Benefit Consultants.
  • Conduct financial negotiations with clients and advisors to ensure the assigned block of business renews profitably each year
  • Overall responsibility for developing client/advisor relationships and delivering on their needs & service expectations

 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum three years experience in successful sales/service/consulting of group benefits insurance specializing in client relationships
  • Sales experience as someone who thinks outside the box and understands the long term investment required to grow your block
  • In depth knowledge of group benefit plan design; applicable financial and underwriting principles; and, taxation rules as applied to group benefit plans
  • A strong leader who is self motivated and understands the consulting house market
  • Computer literate including familiarity with group benefits web applications
  • A gifted presenter and storyteller
  • A team player with a positive outlook and friendly demeanour
