Accountabilities:

  • Design, develop, document, test and implement changes to our corporate systems
  • Work closely with business partners , business analysts and I/T staff to develop solutions to meet business needs
  • Analyze production system problems and recommend workable solutions; includes on-call production support
  • Investigate and solve production problems with minimal to no guidance
  • Research and make recommendations as to when new technologies should be used
  • Deliver effective and efficient solutions by meeting key project milestones and overall project deliverables on time, within budget, and adhering to development and quality standards

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related field
  • VB6 using COM/DCOM and ADO with at least 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and Transact SQL development skills
  • A solid technical background with high proficiency in Microsoft .NET development using C#; ADO.Net; Windows Communications Framework (WCF)
  • Experience using testing frameworks with Dependencies Injection Framework (MEF)
  • Experience of working as part of an agile team
  • Experience with Version Control Systems (Team Foundation Server would be an asset)
  • Experience with SSIS and SSRS (asset)
  • General knowledge of the group insurance industry (an asset)
