Equitable Life of Canada is pleased to announce the launch of myFlex BenefitsTM, a cafeteria-style flex benefits option for small businesses.

myFlex is ideal for groups with between five and 35 lives who are interested in offering competitive benefits on a budget. It’s simple: plan sponsors define their contribution and choose from a selection of benefit options. Plan members then personalize their plan by choosing from the options offered by their employer. Plus, they can purchase additional coverage with payroll deductions.

A unique offering for small businesses in Canada, myFlex is fully pooled, features a two-year renewal and a user-friendly portal for plan members to make their benefit selections. Watch the video to learn more.

“Almost eight million Canadians go to work at a small business every day, but small employers haven’t had access to the same options that larger organizations do. They’ve been limited to traditional one-size-fits-all plans that don’t suit their employees,” says Chris Presley, Regional Vice-President, National Consulting and Small Group Services at Equitable Life. “myFlex meets the needs of plan sponsors and plan members alike. It’s similar to online shopping – just add to your basket and checkout your personalized plan.”

The new product was carefully designed with small businesses in mind. “We started by talking to small businesses across the country about their frustrations with traditional product offerings. They told us they needed more flexibility to meet the diverse needs of their employees and compete for talent with larger organizations – without breaking the bank.”

The insights gained during those discussions led to the unique myFlex Benefits plan design, says Presley. “We piloted myFlex Benefits via select advisors throughout 2014. The response has been very positive, and we are now excited to officially launch the product.”
