At Equitable Life, we believe in giving back to the communities in which we operate. In these communities, we support a variety of charitable initiatives. Most notably, our annual United Way campaign which helps strengthen our community and improve the quality of life for those living in Waterloo Region.

Our employees consistently demonstrate tremendous generosity for the Autism Speaks Canada Walk, and our annual Adopt-a-Family initiative to support local families in need during the holiday season.

Bowl for Kids' Sake

Team Equitable received honorable mention for donations to Bowl for Kids’ Sake. In March 2018, at the KingPin Bowlounge at Bingemans, local teams bowled to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Waterloo Region. Team Equitable raised more than $3,000.

Bell Let's Talk is about more than just donating money. It’s a day focused on dialogue and conversation to break the silence and end the stigma around mental illness. Equitable Life joined the conversation this year by having a guest speaker talk to employees about ‘Happiness Learning from Positive Psychology' during Bell Let's Talk Day 2018.

For the sixth year, Equitable Life was proud to be the presenting sponsor of the Waterloo-Wellington Walk for Autism Speaks Canada. The goal of Autism Speaks Canada is to change the future for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders.

2017 Big Bike for Heart and Stroke

Our Markham office employees participated in the 2017 Heart and Stroke Big Bike Ride in May. Since 2010, Equitable Life’s Markham office has raised more than $20,000 for The Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Equitable Life employees raise funds every year for SickKids through the Region of Waterloo Heatwave Volleyball Tournament. The purpose of the event is to raise funds to end childhood cancer.

For the sixth consecutive year, employees have given their time to the Sunbeam Residential Development Centre to garden at one of their residential homes.

Team Equitable received honorable mention for donations to Bowl for Kids’ Sake. On March 7, 2017, at the KingPin Bowlounge at Bingemans, local teams bowled to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Waterloo Region. The teams participating raised a combined $9,070.00, with Team Equitable raising $3,919.00.

Each year, Equitable Life enters a team to participate in this event.

As part of our ongoing commitment to giving back to the communities in which we operate, Equitable Life has recently made a donation to help support Kids Help Phone. World-renowned for their expertise and continuous innovations, Kids Help Phone is Canada’s only 24/7 counseling and information service for young people. Equitable Life is proud to support this by providing funds that will help ensure access to their online chat capability for kids experiencing challenges.
