Dave Pelletier retired in 2010, following a 38-year career in insurance, reinsurance, and consulting. Immediately prior to retirement, Dave was Executive Vice President of RGA Reinsurance Company, having previously served as President and CEO of RGA Life Reinsurance Company of Canada. He had also worked for a major consulting firm, managing offices in Canada, South America, and Europe.
Dave is currently on the boards of Equitable Life Insurance Company of Canada and RGA Life Reinsurance Company of Canada. In retirement, he chaired the (Canadian) Actuarial Standards Board, the Actuarial Standards Committee of the International Actuarial Association, and the International Relations Council of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. He also served as an advisor to South Korea’s Financial Supervisory Service and subsequently to Samsung Life Insurance Co., Ltd., as Board member of the Global Risk Institute in Financial Services, where he chaired the Nominating and Governance Committee, and as co-chair of McGill University’s Science Faculty Advisory Board. He currently serves on the Actuarial Profession Oversight Board.
Dave is a Past President of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and a Past Chair of the Canadian Reinsurance Conference. He has spoken at conferences and seminars in over 25 countries on five continents, in four languages.
