Equitable’s Meghan Vallis recognized by Benefits and Pensions Monitor for group benefits industry leadership

October 15, 2026 - Meghan Vallis, group sales vice president for Western Canada at Equitable®, was named to the Benefits and Pensions Monitor (BPM) Hot List 2026, recognizing her as one of 30 professionals doing the most to shape Canada's benefits, pensions and institutional investment space in the past year.

Vallis has led Equitable’s group sales in Western Canada since 2020, with a career in group benefits that’s spanned operations, strategy, talent development and more.

“Ultimately, the decisions we make in this industry affect advisors, employers, employees and families,” says Vallis. “There’s a great responsibility that comes with that.”

Through her leadership, Vallis continues to champion more open, informed conversations around topics that have historically been overlooked – like menopause, men’s mental health, flexible benefits and the benefits needs of different generations. As an industry expert, she regularly leads advisor education sessions on these topics, among others.

“The benefits industry is more complex than ever,” she says. “I'm challenging advisors to get outside of their comfort zones and learn about and advise their clients on what can often be sensitive health topics, like men's mental health, menopause and how women have been left out and discriminated against in the medical system.”

Vallis is also a regular contributor to Benefits Canada’s annual Benefits Health Care Survey advisory board and has been a consistent advocate for the Women in Benefits Networking Group in British Columbia.
