December 13, 2011 - Equitable EZClaim™ just got a little more bite with the
introduction of a Health and Dental claims mobile app for the
iPhone and iPad2 following the introduction of a
BlackBerry® smartphone mobile app and online
capabilities for electronic claims submission.
"We are delighted to offer an iPhone and iPad2 based mobile app
as part of the evolution of EZClaim," says Karen Mason,
Senior Vice President, Group - Equitable Life of Canada. "Options
and choices in submitting health and dental claims are important -
and iPhone and iPads are a popular consumer choice and are
certainly going to be a popular Plan Member option for submitting
their claims to us."
Mobile app usage is becoming more popular among BlackBerry and
iPhone/iPad2 users. According to a March 2011 survey
conducted by Quorus Consulting for the Canadian
Wireless Telecommunications Association, 61 percent of male
smartphone owners and 55 percent of female smartphone owners have
downloaded a mobile app.
"Canadians, including our Plan Members are using their
wireless devices in record numbers and for more and more reasons
via a mobile app," says Mason. "Whether our Plan Members choose to
use EZClaim Online or EZClaim Mobile from their
iPhone or BlackBerry device, they now have more options in how they
want to submit their Health and Dental claims and associated
receipts to us."
With Canadian smartphone owners having downloaded an average of
between 11 (females) and 13 (males) apps (excluding games), giving
EZClaim more bite with an iPhone/iPad2 app just made
sense.
