Douglas Alexander has 18 years of experience in senior financial roles for various Canadian public and private companies, including serving as Chief Financial Officer of London Life Insurance Company, and over 25 years of board experience.
Douglas is currently a board member and Chair of Equitable Life Insurance Company of Canada. He is a former board chair of Hydrogenics Corporation, and sat on the boards of Critical Outcome Technologies Inc., Biorem Inc., and Saxon Financial Inc.
He has also had leadership in the non-profit sector including being Chair of the Board of London Health Sciences Centre and President of Golf Canada.
He joined the Equitable Board in 2010 and was elected Chair in 2016.
Douglas is a Chartered Accountant and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland and Ontario. He is also a Chartered Director, having graduated from the Director's College, a joint venture between McMaster University and the Conference Board of Canada.
